A Day in the Life of a Communication Major Pt. 2

In my last post, "A Day in the Life of a Communication Major", I mainly talked about my class schedule on my heaviest class day. Here is a little rundown of my life outside of classes and how I recharge after a long day!


Nap Time

Usually after a long day of class my brain is dead and I just need a little pick me up to get back on the grind. Nothing is better than an episode of Friends and a fat power nap that may or may not end up being longer than I expected.


Coffee Break

Sometimes even if I don't feel like I need a nap, I'll just grab coffee somewhere on campus (because ya gotta use that meal plan $$) and get some work done! My go to choice is usually a black iced americano because it'll wake me right up.


Sorority Life

I am so lucky to be a member of Alpha Omicron Pi here at Appalachian State, and I love every minute of it! I'm the head of communications within my sorority, so I spend a lot of time running out social media accounts and working on the PR of the sorority, which is also a great way for me to gain experience since it works with my major! The sisters of AOII usually have some kind of sisterhood, philanthropy event, contact table (which I run, so you should stop by sometime in the Student Union:)), chapter, social event, or anything in between throughout the week.

Obviously I am an intern with the Communications Department. Throughout the week we work on things such as writing these articles, analyzing the social media statistics, running giveaways, and meeting and collaborating with our team!


Hangout with Friends


I'm the kind of girl who loves to always be surrounded by people. So whenever I have some down time I like to hang out with friends. Sometimes we just hang out at someone's place, watch a movie, visit the humane society, or grab a bite to eat! 




I'm not a gym junkie or anything, but if I know I'm going to be on campus and I have about an hour break I'll hit up the gym (I have to get that summer bod somehow, right?). I usually like to go to Mt. Mitchell in the Plemmons Student Union. Doing a workout throughout the day really helps me de-stress and feel good! Those endorphins really do the trick ;).

Altogether, that's a basic rundown of the rest of my day in no particular order!
