NC STATE UNIVERSITY'S ERROL K. SEAVER VOTED 2025 BOB MATEY NATIONAL VIDEO COORDINATOR OF THE YEAR
The Collegiate Sports Video Association voted Errol K. Seaver, Director of Football Video, Scouting and Analytics for NC State, the 2025 Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year on May 21st at its annual conference, held this year in Houston, Texas.
Seaver is only the 2nd person to win the award twice, and the first to ever win the award at two different institutions (BYU 2017). This is the 28th presentation of this award. Seaver was selected by a majority vote of his peers in the CSVA to receive the National Coordinator of the Year honor.
The Bob Matey Award is presented to the Video Coordinator who displays innovation, determination, perseverance and technical skill as portrayed by the late Bob Matey, legendary Video Coordinator from Texas A&M.
Seaver received this award after also being named 2024-2025's Atlantic Coast Conference Video Coordinator of the Year, his second time receiving the annual honor for the ACC, and his 5th coordinator of the year overall (2017-2018, 2016-2017 Independents, 2013-2014 Sun Belt).
Seaver also serves as the President of CSVA and is in the middle of his third term in this position. He has served on the executive board of CSVA since 2015. In his tenure, he has helped to push the organization forward to continue to provide development, training, and a national dialogue to elevate the role of the video coordinator.
A native of Hickory, NC, Seaver and his wife, Lindsey, live in Apex, NC with their two sons, Kane and Dean.

Errol K. Seaver is in his seventh season with the NC State football program as the Director of Football Visual Production for Scouting and Analytics and twenty-second overall in college football. He joined the Wolfpack in the Spring of 2019, following five years at BYU as Director of Football Video and Technology.
In May, Seaver was voted the Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year by the Collegiate Sports Video Association (CSVA) for his work and display of determination, perseverance and technical skill. This marks the second time Seaver has been voted the best in college football video during his career. He is only the second person to win the award twice, and first ever to win the award at two different institutions (BYU 2017).
Seaver received this award after also being named the 2024-2025 Atlantic Coast Conference Video Coordinator of the Year, his second time receiving the annual honor for the ACC in the last three years (2022-2023), and his fifth coordinator of the year award overall (2016-2017, 2017-2018 Independents at BYU, 2013-2014 Sun Belt at South Alabama).
Seaver is responsible for all technology utilized by the Wolfpack football team. This includes the maintenance of nearly 100 computers, more than 150 iPads and five media servers. In addition, his staff provides video of all practices and games, as well as opponent and NFL games. He organizes and manages the in-house and cloud-based statistical analysis tools the coaching staff uses for game strategy preparation, while also maintaining access to content for more than 175 people.
Beginning with the 2024 season, he oversees the in-game technology now being utilized by coaches and players during competition. This is the second season teams have had access to video during games. Seaver and his staff provide content, distribution and support during the games on the sideline and in the coaches' booth.
In addition to supporting coaches and players, Seaver is involved in upgrading and improving audio/visual equipment throughout the Wendell H. Murphy Football Center, Close-King Indoor Practice Facility and Carter-Finley Stadium. He and his staff have increased video quality and efficiency within the program by implementing new methods, infrastructure and equipment to be more productive. New this off-season is a complete audio/visual remodel of the football team room.
Seaver also serves as President of CSVA, originally being elected in 2020 and re-elected for a third term in May 2024. He previously assumed the role of Vice President in 2018 and was re-elected for a two-year term in 2019. He was initially elected to the Executive Board as Secretary in 2015 and re-elected for a second term in 2017. CSVA is the national association of Video Coordinators, providing development, training, dialogue and a platform to elevate the role of the Video Coordinator.
Seaver's time at BYU was productive. During his tenure, the video room underwent a redesign and meeting rooms were upgraded. Servers and networking infrastructure were advanced allowing for faster and more secure connections throughout football facilities. The filming and editing processes were streamlined by installing fiber optic cable throughout LaVell Edwards Stadium to provide players and coaches film within minutes following games. An NFL Scout room was created, providing individual workstations for up to eight Scouts at a time.
In April 2017, he was invited to speak at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California sharing methods and ideas for improving and increasing the use of mobile devices within college athletics. He addressed Apple developers, college coaches, university administrators and technology professionals from across the country.
Prior to BYU, Seaver served as the Director of Football Video at the University of South Alabama for three seasons. Tasked with building a video department from scratch, he built South's video department into one of the top in the Sun Belt Conference.
In 2010, Seaver served as the Assistant Director of Video for the Big 12 Conference. Before his stint in the league office Seaver was the Football Video Coordinator for two years at Jacksonville State University. He also spent four years at Lenoir-Rhyne College (N.C., Division II) serving as the program's Football Video Coordinator from 2002-2005.
He earned his bachelor's degree in communications, electronic media/broadcasting in 2008 from Appalachian State University, and his master's degree in public administration/athletic administration from Jacksonville State University in 2010. Seaver has been a member of CSVA since 2008 and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) since 2011.
