Faculty Presents Documentary at First Friday & During Homecoming Week!

Congratulations are in order for the Department of Communication's Associate Professor Anne Ward and the Department of Art's Associate Professor Chip Williams. Their recent documentary "Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture: Farm, Food & Community" will be screened at next week's First Friday event at the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts . The documentary is about the first 20 years of the BRWIA organization.

After seeing the documentary, one viewer commented: "So well done! This wonderful work will help increase awareness, understanding and support of this great endeavor that y’all have given to so lovingly! I’m excited to see how things grow from here!"

A brief panel discussion will follow the screening with the filmmakers and Carol Coulter, one of BRWIA's Founding Mothers, first full- time Executive Director, and retired goat dairy farmer.
