AppState's Department of Communication is proud to announce that Dr. Evan Ringel was invited to participate in a distinguished panel on First Amendment litigation at Elon Law Review’s 2025 Symposium. The event, held Thursday, September 18, 2025, brought together leading scholars, lawyers, and jurists to explore contemporary challenges and developments in the areas of the First Amendment, media law and technology.
Dr. Ringel, a respected authority on media law and constitutional law, contributed his insights during the panel discussion titled “First Amendment Litigation". Additionally, Dr. Ringel presented research from his forthcoming article in the Elon Law Review, which examines legal protections for journalists in light of the Trump administration's recent changes to the Department of Justice News Media Guidelines. His participation underscores the symposium’s commitment to fostering rigorous dialogue on the evolving landscape of free speech, press freedoms, and government regulation.
The 2025 Symposium, titled "Breaking News: First Amendment on Trial" was held at Elon Law’s downtown Greensboro campus and was open to legal professionals, students, and members of the public.
