Ciera Thompson

Ciera Thompson, a former Operations Manager for AppTV and an App State Department of Communication alumna of Electronic Media/Broadcasting, has been recognized by Film Impact Georgia for her outstanding short film story idea. She has been awarded the Film Impact Georgia Filmmaker Grant, which comes with "no strings attached" and is valued at $5000. With a mentor's support, Ciera can bring her short film, Take Note, to life.

"Ciera's talent as a storyteller is remarkable. Beyond being incredibly relevant culturally, this story is eloquently told with subtle mastery. The importance of visibility in the script and in the telling of the story itself serves a greater purpose that this filmmaker should be proud of. Her voice is strong, and I look forward to watching her career skyrocket." - Charlie Fisk, Multimedia Producer at Troutman Pepper

"I'm always excited to see films that capture shared struggles and affirm the power of solidarity, a principle whose power is just now being re-discovered in our off-screen world, and that will need to shine ever brighter in the years to come." - Jonathan Kieran, Programming Director at the Atlanta Film Society

“Take Note is a lovely story that is coming at the perfect time. This is the kind of project that filmmakers 15 years from now will reference as being formative to their creative journeys.” - Adetinpo Thomas, Actor & Producer

"Take Note is a tender and absolutely necessary film. Ciera's empathetic script is going to move many. It comes from such an honest place, and I'm so excited to see this film come to life." - Abijeet Achar, Founder & Cinematographer at Pineapple Cut Pictures
