Alex Patti

Alex Patti, 2015, COM Studies. Alex Patti, now an Instructor of Communication at Sandhills Community College, was awarded the Monica Pombo Early Career Teaching Award at the Carolinas Communication Association (CCA) annual conference. The award, named in memoriam of our own beloved faculty members, is given to a faculty member who has demonstrated outstanding teaching skills in the early part of their teaching career. Alex earned his Bachelor of Science in COM Studies from our department and went on to earn his Master of Arts in COM Studies from UNC-Greensboro. He also serves as the Secretary for CCA. To have an Appalachian graduate earn the award named for one of our own faculty members was an honor indeed. As Alex said, "I’m still beside myself and humbled to be in such great company, and LOVE the App family!" Congratulations Alex! We are so very proud of you!
