Recent Award - Dan "Vallie" Hill

Dan “Vallie” Hill is the 2019 recipient of the Golden Mic Award, given by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters for "exceptional dedication to the industry.” He was specifically cited for his leadership of the National Radio Talent System, “the only program of its kind in the world,” begun by Hill in 2006 at Appalachian State to “prepare college students who have a passion and desire for a career in broadcasting.”

Dan “Vallie” Hill is a Practitioner-in-Residence in the Department of Communication at Appalachian State, General Manager of WASU FM, and Director of the Kellar Radio Talent Institute, the founding site of the National Radio Talent System.
