App State communication graduates continue to establish themselves as leaders in their profession fields, even during their student days.
Autumn Dagenhardt, a 2024 graduate who majored in public relations, had an article published in "Progressives," the national blog produced by the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).
The article, "The Comeback Chapter: How engagement and strategy revitalized Appalachian State University's PRSSA Chapter," outlined how App State's PRSSA chapter has realized exceptional growth and offered best-practices tips that other chapters can provide. Dagenhardt served as the president of the App State chapter during the 2023-24 academic year.
The article is available here.
Dagenhardt and other members of the student executive team implemented initiatives that involved the application of public relations theory to practice in a real-life setting. The approach also captures the spirit of the university's PRSSA chapter in bridging the classroom with the workplace in a manner that gives App State students an edge in both securing and thriving in internships and entry-level positions.
Other PRSSA student executive team members this past academic year included Genevieve Dion, Marin Blake, Ashlee Powell and Sophie Baine.
Dagenhardt is currently gaining further valuable experience through a highly competitive internship position with Blumenthal Arts in Charlotte, N.C.
